Anne LeahyAnne Leahy has been Organist and Director of Music at St Michael’s Church, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin since 1983 where she is also co-director of the long-running recital series. She studied organ with Peter Sweeney at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, winning all major prizes and scholarships there. A music graduate of University College, Dublin she also holds an M.A. degree in organ performance and interpretation from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. She subsequently studied organ with the renowned Dutch organist, Ben Van Oosten at the Hague. In great demand as a recitalist in Ireland, Anne has also given recitals in the U.K., Germany, The Netherlands and the U.S.A. She is currently researching the symbolism in the Leipzig Chorales of Bach, which will be presented as a doctoral thesis to the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Anne is currently a member of the academic staff of the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. |
