Regina Hanley, soprano
Regina
Hanley has performed with the major opera companies in Ireland
and the UK including Covent Garden, English National Opera, Glyndebourne,
Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera Ireland, Opera Northern Ireland
and Wexford. She made her debut with ENO as Jenny's Girl in Weill's Mahagonny.
A Janacek specialist, her roles include Jenufa, Katya Kabanova(which she
has performed to great success with Opera Theatre Company both in Ireland
and the Continent) and Emilia Marty, The Makropulous Case (Scottish Opera).
Other roles for Scottish Opera include Ellen Ordord (Peter Grimes) and
Lisa (Pique Dame). Other roles include Nedda, I Pagliacci (Opera Theatre
Company), Michaela, Carmen Astrakahn Opera House, in Russia), Dama, Macbeth,
Flora, La Traviata (Opera Ireland) and Donna Anna, Don Giovanni (Perth
Opera). A versatile performer, Regina is equally at home with the world
of concert, recital and popular entertainment. Concerts given include
Petite Messe (Rossini/BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland and Sweden),
Stabat Mater (Rossini/NCH, Dublin) Music Makers and Sea Picture (Elgar/Chester
Cathedral), Solemn Vespers (Mozart/Kilmainham Hospital, Dublin) Four Last
Songs (Strauss/Mansion House, Dublin) A Child of our Time (with Michael
Tippett) and Mass in G (Schubert/St Martin's in the Field, London). She
is also part of a new group called PrimaDiva, singing beautifully arranged
well-known classical music, much loved Irish songs and popular show numbers,
all in a dynamic show. PrimaDiva has just recorded a CD with The Royal
Scottish National Orchestra.
