Stefan Frank

Stefan Frank was born in Straubing (Bavaria) in 1974. He has been studying music at the University School of Music and Theatre in Munich, where he passed the state examination and the concert diploma with distinction under Professor Martha Schuster. Stefan Frank continues his studies in the master class of Professor Edgar Krapp and at the same time is a scholarship student with Jean Guillou in Paris; furthermore he received essential inspiration from Wolfgang Rübsam and Marie-Claire Alain. Stefan Frank has won several distinctions and prizes, including first prize at the Jugend musiziert competition in 1994, the Straubing Culture Promotion Award 1998, the Munich Leonhard and Ida Wolf Memorial Award and the Felix Mottl Promotion Award in 2000. he plays regularly for Yehudi Menuhin´s Live Music Now and works as an organist and art director at the pilgrimage church of Bogenberg. Recently Stefan Frank recorded a CD for Audite featuring Bach, Reubke and Guillou. The Naxos label engaged him to contribute to the recording of Max Reger´s complete organ works. As a harpsicordist he has played with, among others, the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Stefan Frank has given various recitals in Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Hungary and Ireland.
