Mark Duley

Mark Duley was born in Napier, New Zealand. He followed up two first-class degrees at Auckland University with post-graduate studies in Holland and Germany. He came to Ireland in 1992 and until 2003 was Organist and Director of Music at Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral. During his time there the cathedral developed an international reputation for its music. He is now Artistic Director to the Irish Baroque Orchestra, Chorusmaster to the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir, and Festival Director of Pipeworks. Projects so far this year include directing the National Chamber Choir in a country-wide spring tour, education presentations with Opera Theatre Company, serving as international adjudicator at the Cork International Choral Festival, and concerts with his own newly-established choir Resurgam. Amongst further projects this year are organ recitals in Dublin and Galway, including an inaugural recital on the newly revoiced and tonally enhanced Christ Church Cathedral organ.
