Concurrently with his posts in Dublin and London, Peter was also Director of the Edington Festival of Music within the Liturgy from 1998 to 2003. As an organist, Peter has appeared at many major venues, including the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and Westminster Abbey. He received his training as an organist at King's College Cambridge, where he was organ scholar, and at the Royal Academy of Music, London. He studied with Nicolas Kynaston, Peter Hurford and Nicholas Danby. Last season Peter gave recitals at Westminster and St Paul’s Cathedrals, and the Temple Church, London. He has given a number of recitals in Ireland over the past five years, playing at the National Concert Hall, Christ Church Cathedral and St Mary’s Pro Cathedral, Dublin, and engagements in Belfast (including the Ulster Hall) and Tullamore. Recent recital venues include Magdalen and Queen’s College, Oxford. In addition to his post at St Patrick’s and his activities as a solo organist, Peter is active in promoting organ and choral music in Dublin and beyond, most notably as the Chair of RSCM Ireland. He is also on the Dublin Diocesan Church Music Committee and Pipeworks.
