Hana
Bartošová studied organ and harpsichord at the Brno conservatoire
under J. Pukl and at the Janácek Academy of Music in Brno under
A. Veselá. She was awarded third prize in a competition for young
organists in Prague, and first prize at the Janácek Academy of
Music. She had success also at international competitions in Munich, Leipzig
and Linz. She has taken part in organ courses with Flor Peeters his own
music and that of César Franck), Luigi Celeghin (Italian music),
Gaston Litaize (French repertoire) and Michael Schneider (J. S. Bach),
and has attended masterclasses with world-renowned organ players and teachers.
She has a special interest in the development of contemporary
Czech music in general and composers from Brno in particuar whose works
she has premiered. In addition to her performing career she is sought-after
and successful teacher, and is also a member of various competition juries.
She performs repeatedly at concerts and festivals in her country as well
as abroad (Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, Belgia, Poland, Slovakia
and Slovenia). She performs regularly with various soloists and with the
Brno children’s choir Primavera with which she has made common CD.
She records for radio and television and publishes articles in music magazines.
Currently she is artistic director of the Brno Organ Festival.
